“Microsoft Surface Event” On September 22: What To Expect?

A new Surface Pro, Duo, Book, and Go are expected to surface.

Microsoft announced a hardware event to occur on September 22nd. It might launch next in line with the well-known devices in the Surface lineup. The tech giant will live stream the online event at 11 AM Eastern Time on September 22nd.

The invite for the virtual event has already surfaced. It mentions that Microsoft will talk about “Devices and Windows 11.” The event will mostly cover a refresh of the Surface lineup showcasing Microsoft’s latest Windows 11.

Microsoft Surface Event & Windows 11

Microsoft is getting quirkier with its events. We expect the Surface event to be hosted by none other than Panos Panay, the “father” of the Surface lineup.

Surface Duo 2

Microsoft’s upcoming Surface Duo 2 had already leaked a few months ago. And now, the Android-powered Duo 2 was cleared by the FCC quite recently. The said clearance confirms 5G connectivity, NFC, WiFi 6, and “wireless power transfer.” Hence, we expect to see the Surface Duo 2 at Microsoft’s hardware event on September 22nd.

The initial Surface Duo was a disaster. The Surface Duo 2 can feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC, 5G Support, and more if Microsoft learns from its mistakes. Previously leaked images suggest that it will house a triple-camera setup.

Surface Book 4

Microsoft’s invitation contains an image that looks like a slim Surface tablet. The tech giant is holding the event only two weeks before the official release of Windows 11 in October. Moreover, the timing is perfect. What better way to show off its latest software on shiny new hardware? The Surface Book refresh, rumored to have the name “Surface Book 4” will definitely feature Windows 11.

Surface Pro 8

Also, Microsoft’s Surface Pro laptop upgrade is due, details of the Surface Pro 8 leaked online ahead of its launch, and it will feature a 120Hz Display with two thunderbolt ports. This could be the biggest upgrade to the Surface Pro lineup in a long time.

Surface Pro X

Microsoft’s super-portable tablet, the Surface Pro X was cleared by the FCC and passed Energy Star certifications recently. According to the specifications sheet, the tablet features Qualcomm’s SQ2 SoC, the same custom chip used in the previous Surface Pro X, and 16GB of RAM. We only have these details for now, but its launch is imminent.

The New Surface Series

Furthermore, a Surface Tablet refresh is also due alongside Surface Duo 2, Surface Book 4 and the Surface Pro 8. Microsoft’s Surface event will feature the launch of all these devices showing off Windows 11’s performance. We expect the new hardware to take full advantage of Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 features. Windows 11 brought about the new tablet features, and we will probably see them in action during the event.

Apart from these major announcements, it’s high likely that Microsoft will refresh the remaining Surface devices that include the Surface Pro X, Surface Go 3, and probably not the Surface Neo. Undoubtedly, the September 22 event will be full of new launches and immsensely packed.

We’ll be covering major news from the event on September 22nd. Stay tuned for the same.
