Microsoft’s New All-In-One ‘Office’ App Merges Word, Excel & Powerpoint

Microsoft just held its Ignite 2019 event in Florida, wherein it announced a couple of things for its products.

Among them, the company has decided to make its Office app a single app and integrate some of the widely-used Microsoft apps in it so that users can just download one app.

Microsoft Office: An Umbrella App

The new version of the Office app will bring in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to a single app for both Android as well as iOS users.

This will allow users to create spreadsheets, PPTs, and jot down articles in a single app and not go for three different apps separately.

Apart from this, the new single app will let users conduct various other tasks such as converting images into texts, sharing media between other devices, and creating and signing PDF files.

Microsoft Office Availability

The new Microsoft Office app is available for public preview for Android users and as a beta app for iOS users. However, there is no word on when it will get out of beta for iOS users.

What Else Was Announced?

In addition to an umbrella Microsoft Office app, the company announced a slew of new features for its products and services.

This includes new Microsoft Chromium Edge and Bing web browsers, and improved Outlook with integrated AI features and Cortana support.

There is also a new Voice Enhance feature in Stream, improved Microsoft 265, the new Project Cortex, and a new robotic process automation capability called UI Flows.

Furthermore, Microsoft has announced the Azure Quantum for quantum computing, new Azure Synapse Analytics, and lots more.
