After giving an insider preview in April, today, Microsoft has officially rolled out its Office 2019 version for all the Windows and MacBook users. In other words, all your favorite office software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc., are getting an overhaul.
According to the official blog post, all the new changes in the Microsoft Office 2019 are a subset of features that are already available on Office 365. This also means that Office 2019 is a one-time release and it won’t get any further updates, apart from regular security and stability updates.
Office 2019 adds a slew of enhancements since the Office 2016. For instance, PowerPoint now includes Morph and Zoom through which you can create cinematic presentations. With Excel 2019, Microsoft has added new formulas, charts and a bunch of enhancements to PowerPivot. There are new data analysis features as well.
As for the Word and Outlook, the company has introduced features like Read Aloud and Text Spacing, make it easier to engage with your content. Also, there is Focus mode on both the software which blocks out distractions to a large extent.
The new Microsft version is available for Commercial volume license customers, starting today. The company also confirms that it will keep on bringing the on-premises version in coming years. In other words, while Microsoft focus has shifted to cloud-based Office 365, they don’t want to lose local customers as well.
Microsoft Office 2019 is priced at $249.99 for Home and Bussiness consumers.
