MG Motors India has revealed its much anticipated Marvel X in the ongoing Indian Auto Expo 2020. Marvel X is a compact electric SUV from the company with a maximum range of 403km.
It is the fastest accelerating electric SUV in India; Marvel X can go 0 to 100 km per hour in only 4.5 seconds.
The company claims it will be the world’s first mass-production vehicle to achieve level 3 intelligent driving. With the previous launch of electric SUV MG ZS EV and an entire line-up of 14 cars, MG indicates its plans to dominate the Indian electric market.
The way ‘Morris Garages’ is revealing their electric vehicles, it seems like the company has decided to keep Indian automotive enthusiasts fascinated.

Specifications of Marvel X Electric SUV
Body and Dimensions
Marvel X is a five-door, five-seater compact electric SUV from MG Motors. There will be both All Wheel Drive(AWD) and Rear-wheel Drive(RWD) models.
The electric SUV will be 4678mm long, 1919mm in width, and 1618mm in height with a wheelbase of 2800mm.
Battery and Range of Marvel X
Marvel X electric will be powered by a 52.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery cells. With DC fast charging, it could be charged 0 to 80% in just 40 minutes only. Whereas with the standard charger, it takes around 8.5 hours for the complete charge.
There will be the same battery pack for both AWD and RWD models. However, the number of motors will differ.
The AWD versions of electric SUV Marvel X has an NEDC(New European Driving Cycle) range 370km, whereas 2WD Models has an NEDC range of 403km.
Suspension System
There will be a Mcpherson Strut Suspension system at the front and Trapezoid-link Independent system at the rear, with 235/45 R19 Machined Alloy (DC) wheels.
Safety
Apart from the excellent build quality of the Marvel X electric SUV, the electric vehicle will come loaded with safety features.
There will be 6 airbags for all versions. In addition to this, there will be essential safety features like Anti-lock Braking(ABS) System, Electronic Brake Distribution, Electronic Stability Program(ESP), Hill Descent Control(HDC), and Speed Assistant System(SAS).
Furthermore, there are additional safety features like Lane Departure Prevention, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and a lot more.
Key Features
I think, at present, MG is far ahead of its competitors in terms of features. There is a long list of features that MG provides.
To start with, let’s talk about some most highlighting features only.
Marvel X comes with an Augmented Reality(AR) navigation system that improves navigation with precision and better visuals.
The electric SUV has AI parking and AI cruising, which is one of the several factors responsible for helping it achieve level 3 intelligent driving.
Other features include a 19.4 inches touch screen, 12.3 inches LED clusters, voice control remote system, 360-degree environment system and much more.
Price
MG Motors India has not announced anything regarding the price breakage of the electric SUV. However, as per the specifications and some sources, it would be around 25-30 lakhs(ex-showroom).
With this price range, it is still better than Hyundai Kona that offers a better range slightly but has very little to offer in terms of features.
