Maruti is likely to announce the price and details of the much-awaited Maruti S-Presso CNG BS6 version in the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. The CNG version of S-Presso is likely to launch in mid-2020.
The company will be using S-CNG technology in Maruti S-Presso. With this technology, the mileage of the car is expected to go around 30 km/kg (Claimed) of CNG. However, the fuel-efficiency of the petrol version will remain the same as that of the older version.
The expected price of Maruti S-Presso B6 CNG will start from Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) based on the variant.
Maruti S-Presso BS6 2019
Maruti S-Presso is a mini SUV from the automaker. At present, S-Presso comes only in a petrol version that offers ten different variants. The petrol version of the Maruti S-Presso offers a mileage of 21.7 km/liter, as claimed by the company.
Inside the hood is a 1.0 Liter K10B engine. This k-series engine makes a total output of 67 hp and a peak torque of 90 Nm.
The BS6 version of Maruti S-Presso was previously launched in November 2019. As per the sources, Maruti S-Presso CNG will be incorporated with the same technology as we saw in the recently launched Maruti Alto 800.
Maruti launched the CNG version of Alto 800 last week. The car is powered by a 798 cc engine that could produce a maximum output of 47.33 bhp and 69 Nm of peak torque.
The company has used S-CNG technology in its latest product. If the vehicle runs on the CNG mode, then it can deliver 40.36 bhp and a 60 Nm of torque. Nevertheless, fuel-efficiency is highly improved with this technology and is enhanced to 31.59 km per kg of CNG.
Maruti S-Presso CNG Price Expectations:
So far, it’s a clear picture that Maruti will be using the same S-CNG in Maruti S- Presso CNG. If we consider the other models from Maruti then, unlike hybrid cars, installing a CNG kit would be less expensive. Therefore the average increase in the cost will be around 50k-60k INR. This makes the expected cost of S-Presso around Rs 4.50 lakh to Rs. 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Expected Fuel Efficiency of Maruti S-Presso CNG:
Fuel-efficiency of the Maruti Alto k10 CNG model, which is powered by the same 1.0-liter k-series engine, is 32.26 km/kg (claimed). However, considering other factors like body type, aerodynamics, weight, and other factors, it could be different. Therefore, the expected fuel-efficiency could be around 25-28 km/kg in CNG mode.
