It’s been a while since the news of the facelifted version of Maruti Brezza popped up in the market. However, what’s currently heating the internet up are the recently leaked images of Maruti Brezza with an SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) badge. With the new badge, Maruti plans to launch a hybrid version of the Brezza SUV.

Maruti is expected to reveal the all-new Brezza Smart Hybrid in the upcoming Auto-Expo 2020. For now, we can only tell you that it will be a facelifting model along with the smart hybrid (SHVS) technology. The price has not been revealed by the company at the moment but considering the other models that already have this smart hybrid technology, the price will still be lower than that of the diesel models of Maruti Brezza. Right now, the technology has already been incorporated into other models such as Baleno, Ertiga, S-cross, and XL-6.

Cheap Hybrid Vehicles For India: What is SHVS?

Smart Hybrid Technology is simply a technology for Hybrid Vehicles introduced by Maruti. It basically improves fuel-efficiency along with assisting the engine during acceleration and reduces emission.

It uses an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator), which has a set of dual batteries (one lead-acid and the other is the lithium-ion battery) and a motor. When the vehicle is in idle state, it automatically stops and the motor silently starts the vehicle when we press the clutch and assists the engine during acceleration. This, in turn, improves engine life and reduces emissions as the motor contributes to generating power. When the vehicle is decelerating, the energy that would have been lost while braking is stored. This stored energy is further used in assisting the engine and thus improving the fuel-efficiency.

There is a huge demand for Electric and Hybrid vehicles in the market at present. This demand is only going to increase in the future.

So far, Maruti has not come up with any electric vehicles, but they have clearly worked on hybrid vehicles. Their hybrid line will surely come into its full effect once there is a complete ban on diesel cars as these hybrids will be taking up the vacant spaces of diesel-powered vehicles.
