The latest beta update of Oxygen OS brings good news for OnePlus 5/5T owners.
Oxygen OS beta builds OB17, and OB15 not only brings changes in the UI but portrait selfie mode to front camera as well. A post published on the official OnePlus forum yesterday announced the beta versions and the changelog.
It’s been a while since OnePlus users had a long changelog. The latest version of the beta software brings lots of improvements to the OxygenOS including optimized background power consumption control, Gaming mode 3.0, hourly weather forecast, new OxygenOS UI in the native Notes app and UI optimization in Oneplus Switch.
Since there is no dual front camera in OnePlus 5/5T, therefore, the front portrait mode will not be as effective as expected, but the bokeh effect is a welcome feature.
The Gaming Mode 3.0 brings call suspension notification, text notification mode and optimizations in UI and interaction to improve your gaming experience on OnePlus 5/5T.

These features have been included in the beta version as of now, but you can expect the stable version soon.
In another related development, a OnePlus executive has said that OnePlus 6 will soon get the revamped UI. The new update will bring subtle and minimal changes in the UI that OnePlus 5 and 5T beta users are already enjoying. An official blog post was made to describe the changes and how OnePlus is incorporating them. The changes in the UI are about highlighting the main aspects of the app by making elements bolder.
