Team Trees is probably the largest YouTube collaboration ever that seeks to plant 20 million trees all across the globe. If you follow famous YouTube creators like Mr. Beast, Linus Tech Tips and The Infographic Show, then you must be aware of the giant movement taking the digital world by storm.

The Team Trees initiative initially started several months ago as a prank on YouTube creator Mr. Beast. He is famous for tipping thousands of dollars in a taxi ride and giving away a lot of free stuff for people in need.

Seeing the generous nature of his videos, his fans jokingly poked him to plant 20 million trees. This “joke” became viral as several users across Reddit, Twitter, and Instagram started asking for the same thing from Mr. Beast.

So after several months and probably thousands of messages, Mr. Beast decided to plant 20 million trees. On the 26th of October 2019, Mr. Beast posted a video on Youtube titled “Planting 20,000,000 Trees, My Biggest Project Ever!” thus fulfilling the request of his fans official.

Mr. Beast, collaborated with TeamTrees.org to plant the said number of trees. The organization comprises of professionals who know everything about planting trees. For every single dollar donated to Teamtrees.org, they will plant one tree.

Hence, the aim now is to gather 20 million dollars by the end of 2020 to plant 20 million trees.

However, it isn’t possible for a single YouTuber to plant 20,000,000 trees all on their own. He has donated $100,000 to plant trees, but the money isn’t nearly enough.

That’s why, inspired by the initiative taken by Mr. Beast and several other prominent YouTubers like Lemmino, Mark Rober, Jacksepticeye came together to help Mr. Beast in planting 20 million trees either by donating money to teamtrees.org or planting a tree themselves.

These two aren’t the only way in which the YouTube community is helping Mr. Beast and the environment at large. Several creators on the site are helping the cause in their own unique way.

“The Japanese even have a word for this ‘SHIRIN-YOKU’ or ‘Forest Bathing.’ The narrator further added: ‘According to the video, a thick canopy of trees can cool down surrounding areas including office buildings, thus limiting the need for air conditioning.

The really special thing about the Team Trees initiative is that it spans across different genres on YouTube. Mr. Beast is a vlogging channel, but every other YouTuber that came to help him out belongs to a different genre than the video creator.

Linus Tech Tips, a tech YouTuber that focuses on content related to PCs, hardware, and smartphones, came out to help Mr. Beast by making a tree planting gun that can shoot seeds at high speed.

In his video titled “We Built a Tree-Planting Cannon,” Linus made a seed planting gun able to shoot projectiles in 500ft/s. In his video description, he says, “We believe tree planting is important but a process that could use some modernization.”

One of the big YouTubers, Jacksepticeye, also extended his support for Mr. Beast. Jack’s voice on the YouTube platform is a prominent one and with his 22.9 million subscribers he is also doing his utmost to help in saving the environment.

In his video, he asked his audience “Do you want to be part of the largest YouTube collab that has ever happened on the platform, since YouTube has ever existed?”

He told his audience, “Please consider donating generously, because this is something that’s bigger than me, bigger than you, bigger than this channel, bigger than all the YouTubers on the entire website, this is a global effort,”

Following the video on Sunday, Jack live-streamed Minecraft for 8 hours 36 minutes in an effort to raise money for the cause.
