Telecom operator Reliance Jio has added a new app to its list of apps, known as the JioRail app in India.
The JioRail app, meant for the 4G-enabled features phones – JioPhone and JioPhone 2, will help users book train tickets, check PNR status, view train ticket history, and other train-related information.
Users can check train timings, look for seat availability, and make payments for tickets using the debit and credit cards, and even e-wallets.
Acting as a medium to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the app can be downloaded via the Jio App Store.
Additionally, users can book train tickets in Tatkal for emergency or last-minute traveling.
“Train ticket booking has been made quite simple on the JioRail app. With this unique service, India’s consumers can avoid standing in long queues or pay agent fees to book tickets and instead enjoy an enhanced digital life experience,” said Jio in a press statement.
Furthermore, the app is expected to get future updates for new feature additions such as notifications on PNR status change, ability to order food, train locator, and more.
To recall, Reliance Jio, recently launched a new app dubbed the JioBrowser app, allowing users to get access to news, trending topics, videos, and relevant information all in one place.
The JioBrowser app is currently available for the Android users.
