The overall status of gaming consoles in India is not that great compared to one found in the U.S. Consoles launches happen almost two to three months after the official releases in other countries. Still, it looks like the scenario might change soon. Well, Jio might be entering into the gaming console business.
Jio Gaming Console
Popular Tech Enthusiast Mukul Sharma spotted Jio Gaming Console on the BIS certification website with the product name Electronic Games (Video). The device held the model number JGC100 and was listed today.
JGC in “JGC100” most probably refers to “Jio Gaming Console.” It will be interesting to see what Jio has up its sleeves.
And since the console is coming from Jio, its price should be pretty low compared to the current major consoles in India. However, we don’t know any other details at the moment.
Jio, in partnership with Google, is also going to launch an affordable ‘Android Go Smartphone.’ Chances are, Jio might launch the Console alongside the phone, but we don’t think you should get your hopes higher.
