android-marshmallowShort Bytes: It’s official: Android M is named after your favorite puffy white bonfire treat and is called – Android Marshmallow (Android 6.0).

After months of endless speculations, Google has finally revealed what the Android M stands for. Yes, it’s called Android Marshmallow. So, the next iteration of Android operating system, Android 6.0, has got an official name. Google has previously released the preview version Android M at is annual I/O conference.

Just a few minutes ago, Dave Burke, Android’s VP of engineering unveiled the stature on Twitter. The picture shown above is in front of the Building 43, the Android building, at Google’s Monutain View headquarters.

According to the latest SDK, Android Marshmallow will be Android 6.0 and the update is expected to be released soon this fall.
