Coronavirus pandemic has almost affected all the small-scale and large-scale companies, including Apple, Samsung, and many others. As said in a previous report by MacRumours, if the manufacturing comes on track by the second quarter, Apple will launch iPhone 12 by September 2020.
Now, as speculated by analyst Ming-Chu Kuo, the upcoming iPhone 12 will get a major camera update. Kuo speculated that the iPhone 12 will feature a large camera sensor along with sensor-shift stabilization.
Previously, a major change in the camera department was witnessed in Apple’s iPhone 11 series as the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max featured a triple-lens camera setup.
Sensor-Shift stabilization In iPhone 12
Sensor-shift stabilization will replace the optical image stabilization feature currently available in iPhones. Brief detail about how Apple is going to use the concept is still awaited. However, for starters, sensor-shift image stabilization technology moves the image sensor present inside the camera to reduce or remove the camera shaking effect.
Recent rumors also throw light on the fact that Apple could come up with four iPhone variants in 2020, including a 5.4-inch iPhone with a dual-sensor camera, a 6.1-inch iPhone with a dual-sensor camera, and one with a triple-sensor camera. The fourth variant will be a 6.7-inch iPhone with a triple-sensor camera.
Both the iPhone 12 variants with triple sensors are said to feature a time-of-flight sensor which will support the apps based on Augmented reality. The 6.7-inch variant of the iPhone 12 is going to be the tallest iPhone ever made by Apple as the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch display.
Future Predictions
Ming-Chu Kuo also predicted that, in the future, iPhones would feature a periscope lens, which will let the users experience 5x and 10x optical zoom. With the periscopic lens, users will be able to capture details zoomed-in photos.
As per the latest predictions by Kuo, Apple is working on periscopic lenses which will be introduced in at least one iPhone model launching around 2022. Apart from that, iPhone 13 will feature an upgraded telephoto lens and it will also come equipped with the new sensor-shift technology.
