India Is Building Its First Ever Quantum Computer

Quantum computer is a new breed of computing machines whose true potential is yet to be explored by humans.

China has also made their name by building quantum computers. Similarly, in the private space, D-Wave and IBM areย known for their quantum computing products.

According to a report by The Hindu, the Department of Science and Technology is planning to fund India’s first quantum computer project.

Until now, efforts made by academic institutions including IISc, Bangalore, and Harish Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, have been on the theoretical side. A workshop, attracting experts from all over the country, will be held in Allahabad this month to discuss the groundwork for the quantum computer.
