As pop-up cameras on smartphones are trending in the tech world, Huawei doesn’t wish to be left behind and has made its first-ever pop-up camera smartphone — Huawei P Smart Z official.
The Huawei P Smart Z is the first Huawei smartphone to bring various types of notches and go for a pop-up selfie snapper for an edge-to-edge display.
The pop-up camera stands at 16MP, which enables a 6.59-inch Full HD+ LCD display with really thin bezels. The rear cameras are two in number, rated at 16MP and 5MP. Additionally, the cameras support AI-based features.
The front camera works in the same manner as any other pop-up smartphone works; it pops up in ‘one second’ when the selfie mode is enabled and goes back to its position when the image is clicked.
Huawei P Smart Z Specs
As for the other specifications, the P Smart Z is powered by the company’s octa-core Kirin 710 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes equipped with 64GB of internal storage.
The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, GLONASS, and GPS.
Additionally, the device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and has Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Sapphire Blue color options.
The Huawei P Smart Z is priced at €279 and is available in Italy and Spain.
There is no word on its availability in other countries at the time of writing.
While the longevity of the pop-up camera of smartphones seems to be in question, Huawei claims that the one on its P Smart Z can withstand 12kg of pressure and has been found durable in more than 100,000 retractions, which could make it a promising smartphone.
Furthermore, I am soon coming up with a listicle on pop-camera and slider phones, hence, stay tuned to this space.
