It’s official. HTC One M9 is the first big launch from Mobile World Congress 2015. After months of leaks and speculation, HTC has launched its latest flagship, the HTC One M9. The earlier leaks were pretty much accurate and the successor to M8 doesn’t suggest any major design changes. Soon after the HTC even, Samsung launched its much rumored Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with dual curved edges.
I’ve been a fan of HTC design team and HTC One M9 is surely one hell of a beautiful beast. But, if you’ll look at the phone, you’ll start wondering if it’s the same HTC One M8. Yeah, nothing much has changed. The aluminum feel looks the same and same is the 1080p resolution and 5-inch display. The BoomSound speakers at the front are reminiscent of the One M8.
But, there’s nothing bad about keeping what’s good. HTC has retained the already perfect design, sound (improved with Dolby Sound technology) and display, and has upgraded the processor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chip. Rear camera is now Toshiba made 20-megapixels and UltraPixel camera is now brought to the front with 4. Battery of HTC One M9 too is given an upgrade.
Leader of HTC’s industrial design team Claude Zellweger says:
“We want our lineup to be the most luxurious in the world.”
