Google Assistant is an AI-powered virtual assistant available on Android devices by default. It helps you with mundane tasks in your daily life and can be controlled with voice commands. However, sometimes it turns on without any command, which can get annoying pretty fast. Fortunately, there are ways to stop/turn off Google Assistant by disabling it on Android devices.

The service can’t be uninstalled as it’s part of the Google app. The constant interruptions become detrimental to user privacy as they meant Google was constantly listening in, and a lawsuit was filed against Google. You may still use it, but you can turn off the OK, Google/Hey, Google command to eliminate the constant interruptions. You can also turn off Google Assist on the home button so it won’t open by mistake.
