Recently, Microsoft OneDrive has got some fresh photo editing features. The popular file storage service‘s parent company announced these new features in a recent blog post. Microsoft OneDrive has become quite popular among students and professionals over the years. Microsoft’s blog post mentioned that these photo editing features come with many options and are easy to use.
Photo Editing is available only on Web and Android versions of OneDrive. The new features are expected to come to iOS later this summer. Also, you can only access these features on OneDrive Personal accounts; if you have a Work or Student account, you will not be able to use these until later this year. Here’s how to edit photos on OneDrive Web and Android.
Editing Photos on OneDrive Web
The editor on OneDrive’s website is quite simplified and easy to use.
1. Open OneDrive Web, click on a photo from your stored files. You will see the new Edit option as shown below.
2. You will have two options now: Crop and Adjustment, select your desired option and continue.
3. The cropping tools feature a Free Crop, or you can choose from aspect ratio presets. You also can rotate and flip the photo under the Crop section.
4. Next up is the Adjustment section. Here, you can tweak the Light (Brightness, Exposure, Contrast, etc.) and Colour (Saturation, Warmth, etc.) settings of each photo as shown.
5. Finally, Save the photo to finalize changes.
The photo editor on OneDrive Web is quite easy to use and is user-friendly.
Editing Photos on OneDrive Android
Let us see how we can use the Android app to edit photos.
1. Launch the OneDrive app, select a photo from your stored files, and you will see the new Edit option as shown below.
2. After the editor opens, you will see two sections, namely Crop and Adjustment. Select your desired option to continue.

As of now, the OneDrive photo editing feature only works with JPEG and JPG files. You won’t find the edit option for other file formats.
