Sony is reportedly working with Valve to bring Half-Life: Alyx to PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2), their new VR headset for the PS5. This seems to be quite in line with Valve’s goal of making VR mainstream. Half-Life: Alyx is the most advanced VR game ever made. Therefore, it would make quite a lot of sense for Valve and Sony to make this deal.
This information comes from a prominent leaker, Nick Baker. He claims that his sources have told him that both companies have worked it out, but he is not sure when it is happening. Baker even assumed that this information was one of those open secrets.
From what I’ve been told, they have. Not sure when it’s happening though. I thought this was one of those open secrets? https://t.co/RPrdPArDLc

Half-Life Alyx
Sony has not disclosed the release date for PSVR 2, and it is not clear when Half-Life Alyx will come to the platform. However, it is very likely that it will be a launch title for the VR console.
Currently, the game is only available on PC and requires a good setup to run it properly. However, with the next-gen specs of the PS5, running it on a console will be pretty easy.
PSVR 2 backwards compatibility
It was only recently that Sony announced the specs for PSVR 2, which on paper looks quite similar to Meta (Oculus) Quest 2. Baker also mentioned that almost a year ago, he was told by his sources that the PSVR 2 wouldn’t be backward compatible.
However, you should take this information with a grain of salt as there is a chance that Sony has since worked it out. So there is a sliver of hope that we will see PSVR games on the PSVR 2.
I was told almost a year ago it wouldn't be BC. But maybe they've had time to work it out since? Or maybe add it some time after launch? Would be weird to give away so many VR games that…can't play on the new device https://t.co/CGX4GuIkel
