The upcoming title in Rockstar Games’ GTA series, Grand Theft Auto 6, is one of the most talked-about games recently. We’ve seen many leaks and rumors around the highly anticipated game – GTA 6. However, things seemed positive about the games’ arrival soon after a leak about a job opening at Rockstar Games.
In addition, another recent leak suggests that we might not see GTA 6 anytime soon. While Rockstar has been tight-lipped about any information on the upcoming GTA title. In a video, a reliable leaker Tom Henderson shares some info relating to GTA 6.
GTA 6 will feature evolving map?
According to Henderson, GTA 6 will take place in a modern-day Vice City. This is partially to gain on the massive popularity of GTA Online. However, Henderson goes on to explain that a 1980s theme would restrict the developers to have a similar setting with Rockstar’s massively popular GTA 5 and GTA Online. Considering 2020 was GTA 5’s best-selling year ever since its launch in 2013.
Although Vice City is expected to return with GTA 6, it probably won’t be the entire map. Moreover, the map is not expected to be as large as the previous leaks claim. According to Henderson, the game is expected to feature an ‘evolving map’, meaning the map will include features with DLCs.
Henderson goes on to compare the expected evolving map of GTA 6 to that of Fortnite; notably how Fortnite makes changes to its map with various live events and DLCs.
Speaking of in-game characters, the leaker claims that the upcoming GTA title will include multiple playable characters. Moreover, one of the playable characters will be a female, taking on the role of the bright tech and hacking expert. This implies that Rockstar might be planning to incorporate features from games like Watch Dogs in the modern setting of GTA 6.
GTA 6 won’t be out in a long time
Ultimately, when it comes to the release date of GTA 6, many fans can’t hold their horses. While it is understandable to be eager about the games’ release, we might not see GTA 6 in the upcoming months. Henderson claims that the upcoming GTA title may not arrive until 2024 or 2025.
The delay isn’t because many think that the game is still in early development; Henderson asserts Rockstar is focused on employee well-being and is trying to avoid the harsh long working hours. Another reason being GTA 6 will only be released on the current-gen PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S.
There has been a shortage of supply when it comes to the current-gen of consoles, which is expected to continue a bit further. Now, Rockstar understands this and wants the game to be available to a larger audience upon its launch, which is good for both parties concerned.
The most important thing to note here is that none of this is official. While Henderson is known for his spot on Battlefield and Call of Duty leaks, the leaker said this info should be taken with a grain of salt.
