In a recent announcement, Google opened up the beta for its highly awaited Crowd play feature for Google Stadia. Google Stadia’s crowd play feature allows users to play games with streamers while watching their live streams.
Last year, Google gave access to Stadia’s crowd play feature in a bid to attract more people to the cloud gaming service. Now, Google showed off the crowd play feature in a short video featuring the Olympic games Tokyo 2020: The Official Game, one of the many games that support the feature.

Crowd Play Beta
Google Stadia’s crowd play feature will work on select games that Google Stadia has to offer. To utilize the beta program of crowd play, users will have to have their YouTube and Google cloud gaming service accounts linked together. The beta users would need to activate the crowd play feature before starting the live stream.
The crowd play feature by Google is a great way to boost a streamer’s channel interaction. While one click of the feature will add players to the queue, they can join the stream and play as soon as the streamer lets the player in.
Furthermore, the streamer can choose to play with the same viewers/subscribers or can even choose to remove the current viewers from the lobby and let the other players in. In addition, the feature sounds a lot like the ‘subscriber games’ that YouTube streamers do in order to engage their subscribers.
Meanwhile, interested ones can apply to the beta program for the crowd play feature through the application form. The crowd play feature was announced along with the launch of Stadia and had been available for select users till now. Furthermore, as of now, the crowd play feature works with only a few select Google Stadia games; games like Borderlands 3, Crayata, Dead by Daylight, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, alongside others.
