God Of War For PC Officially Announced: Kratos Hacks His Way Out Of PlayStation Exclusivity

The father-son duo of Kratos and Atreus is finally coming to PC.

Following in the footsteps of exclusive former PlayStation games, such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone, God Of War is making its way to PC soon. The winner of multiple Game Of The Year awards is, by far, the most decorated PlayStation exclusive to make the jump across platforms.

As revealed by Sony, God Of War will arrive for PC on January 14, 2022. The announcement has confirmed that the title will support 4K video quality along with 60 FPS gameplay.

The game’s announcement trailer showed actual PC gameplay footage mixed with cinematics. It showcased Kratos and Atreus narrating the plot of God Of War. Besides this, the trailer also highlighted the critical success of the game, which initially came out in 2018.

God Of War is widely considered one of the best games ever and is a smash hit from the PS4 generation. The game from Santa Monica Studios takes inspiration from Norse Mythology and puts you in the shoes of Kratos. Also, its sequel, God Of War: Ragnarok, is arriving next year for PS5 and PS4.

Interestingly, God Of War is the second major PS exclusive to get a PC port in the past few months. Earlier, Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy also made the switch as part of the Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection.

As Sony embraces the idea of its first-party studio games coming to PC, a bigger audience gets to experience them. Undoubtedly, this is great news for PC gamers who might otherwise be restricted by the platform on which they play.
