Former Indian President and the brains behind the famed Indian AGNI missiles Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam has passed just a few minutes ago at the age of 83.  He collapsed while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, and was immediately admitted to the Bethany Hospital.

He was kept in ICU and was in a critical condition when brought into the hospital. The doctors believe it to be a cardiac arrest. Mr Kalam was famously known as The Missile Man of India for his works on the development of ballistic missiles and launch vehicle technology.

He was the 11th President of India and also received a Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. He was an idol to the growing Indian kids.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, “The death of Dr. Kalam is an irreparable loss to this nation. He has left a big void hard to fill. I deeply mourn his death. RIP Kalam Sahab.”

This is a great loss to India as a nation. Salute to the Genius. May his soul rest in peace.
