What do you think would be a good new name for Facebook?

Facebook is reportedly looking to change its name to rebrand itself. After news of this reached the netizens of the web, they certainly had something to say about it. Several speculations have also come out regarding the new brand name, such as ‘Meta’ and ‘Horizon.’ According to Verge, there’s a slight possibility that Facebook’s new name could be something related to Horizon.

Horizon was the name of the VR app that the company has been developing for the past few years. The name of the app has since been changed to Horizon Worlds. The company also demoed a version of the workplace collaboration called Horizon Workrooms. When asked about it, a Facebook spokesperson denied commenting on the matter.

There are also talks of the new name being related to “Meta,” similar to Zuckerburg’s previous statements regarding metaverse. Another reason for such a name is meta.org, the home of a biomedical research discovery tool developed under the stewardship of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Such short domain names are preferred by Silicon Valley companies and are considered a mark of prestige. This domain name would also allow Facebook to officially call itself a metaverse company.
