Everything New On Netflix This Week: June 29-July 5, 2020

This week on our “New on Netflix” series, we have Ju:On which is a new Netflix original series based on the legendary horror franchise Grudge. Japanese horror flicks are absolutely spine chilling and we are expecting the same from Ju:On. Apart from that, we have the iconic documentary series called Unsolved Mysteries that brings mind-boggling cases of disappearance, murders, and paranormal activity that couldn’t be solved to date.

As we discussed last week, we are getting to see more new titles getting added to Netflix’s anime collection. This week we have the first season of the popular anime series Brand New Animal (BNA) added to the catalogue.

1. Brand New Animal (BNA): Season 1

Its 21st century and anthropomorphic animals have now come out of shadows to reveal their existence. The story follows a young human named Michiru, who one day turns into a Tanuki (a brand new animal). She later meets Shirou, a wolf-man who hates humans. Slowly, Michiru begins to understand the issues surrounding the mystery of animal men. But the question remains unsolved: why did Michiru turn into a Tanuki, and why was she a human until then? Together, in search of answers, they find themselves uncovering something even bigger

2. JU-ON: Origins (Season 1)

If you are a fan of the horror movie series Grudge, then you are going to love Ju:On which is a new Netflix original series based on the legendary horror franchise. Just like the Grudge series, Ju-On: Origins begins with the death of a person who has a deep rage inside of them that goes on to give birth to an extraordinary and horrifying curse.

3. Deadwind: Season 2

Sofia Karppi, is a detective in her 30’s who is grieving her husband’s death. One day she discovers the body of a young woman on a construction site, which triggers a chain of events that threatens to destroy her life again. Deadwind is a highly thrilling series from Finland that mixed crime investigation and personal drama.

4. Unsolved Mysteries: Volume 1

Unsolved Mysteries is a new Netflix series that brings a collection of baffling stories that are real. It ranges from cases of perplexing disappearances, shocking murders, and paranormal encounters.

5. Warrior Nun: Season 1

One day a young girl wakes up in a morgue with inexplicable supernatural powers. She is caught in the middle of an ancient war between good and evil, and she finds herself chosen by The Order of the Cruciform Sword, a secret society of warrior nuns sworn to protect the world from evil. This fantasy drama touches mystery, action, adventure, and teenage romance while she juggles between her responsibilities as the chosen one and a normal teenage girl.

6. Southern Survival: Season 1

What good is surviving disasters if you can’t have fun doing it? Laugh along as the BattlBox crew prepares for the worst, testing out products designed to help people survive dangerous situations, including explosions, natural disasters and intruders.

9. Desperados

Desperados is a hilarious story of a panicked young woman and her two best friends who fly to Mexico to delete a ranting email she sent to her new boyfriend. But on arrival, they run into her former boyfriend who soon gets caught up in their frantic scheme.
