Capturing screenshots is almost a daily affair for many internet users. You could find an interesting thing on the web, and saving the web page as an image is probably the most convenient way.
That’s why in addition to the built-in screenshot tools in the OS, various web browsers come with their version of screen capture tools. Speaking of which, Microsoft is also testing a new screenshot tool for the Edge browser, called Web Capture.
The tool was spotted by the Italian blog Aggiornamenti Lumia and is accessible via the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the browser window. After opening the Web Capture tool, you can cut out snippets of a web page and copy, save, or share them wherever you want.
The tool can also show a preview of what you have captured if you might want a retake. The Web Capture tool is currently available in Edge Canary to builds for limited users and only seems to provide the snip option as visible in the tweet.
The tool is currently a part of A/B testing, and it’s not known when the Web Capture tool will arrive on the stable builds of Edge Chromium.
