The remastered version of the fan-favorite campaign of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is a long time coming. While Activision hasn’t announced anything of the sort. A COD leaker, TheMW2Ghost, claimed that COD MW3 remaster is going to release sometime in 2021.
Ever since the release of the remastered version of the fan-favorite Modern Warfare 2, the community has been eagerly waiting for a Modern Warfare 3 remaster. At the same time, many were disappointed with the release of the MW2 remaster because the game didn’t feature a multiplayer remaster as many players hoped for.
COD Modern Warfare 3 Remastered Leak
According to the leaker, COD Modern Warfare 3 remaster is set to release in the second quarter of 2021 as a Playstation exclusive.
Another tweet providing a bit more clarity on the release, “it was originally set for Q2 of this year under a deal with PlayStation, but not sure if that’s still the case (date). Apparently, it’s definitely still coming at some point this year.”
Meanwhile, the leaker claims that COD MW3 remaster is ‘definitely’ coming at some point this year. However, no information about the release date has been revealed in the leak.
As the second quarter encompasses anywhere from April to June, it’s still safe to say the remaster might be on its way soon. However, considering Activision hasn’t made any announcements, we might even see a delay.
For those wondering, why would Activision make Modern Warfare 3 remaster a PlayStation exclusive upon its release? Take this: the publisher applied the same strategy when they released MW2 remaster.
Given the accuracy of TheMW2Ghost‘s leaks about calling cards and in-game events, there’s no guarantee that a COD MW3 remaster will release in the said duration. We’ll have to wait until Activision makes any statements about the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 remaster.
