A few weeks ago, we covered a rumor that the 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is getting remastered. Well, guess what, the rumor turned out to be true. Activision just released COD: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, but only for PS4.
Unfortunately, if you want to play the game on Xbox One and PC, then you’ll have to wait until April 30.
Developer Beenox was behind the wheels to remaster the classic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Activision flaunts that the remastered version will have “improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and much more.”
As rumored, the remastered version only consists of the single-player campaign component. Asides from the fact that the game is PS4 exclusive for over a month, fans are also disappointed that the multiplayer component didn’t get the remastered treatment.
According to Activision, they decided not to include multiplayer because they didn’t want to split their player base anymore.
2019’s COD: Modern Warfare and the latest free-to-play battle royale, COD: Warzone already have a huge player base. That makes two Call of Duty titles competing with each other. So, Understandably, including multiplayer in the third Call of Duty title didn’t make sense.
Nevertheless, playing the classic story of COD: Modern Warfare 2 once more in the remastered version is still exciting for a lot of fans.
You can play the COD: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered on PS4 by paying $20. Moreover, in the bundle, you’ll also get other items and bonuses to use in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
