Cloudflare announced its privacy-focused DNS service 1.1.1.1 in April this year. It is a public DNS resolver. The company has claimed that its DNS service is the fastest resolver out there.

Now, Cloudflare has launched a dedicated Android and iOS app for 1.1.1.1. The app will allow mobile users to safely browse the internet by accessing the free DNS service.

The app is simple to use and features one on/off button to use the DNS service. The service was already available for mobile users. However, with the dedicated app using the service would be easier.

The 1.1.1.1 app could be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The reason why 1.1.1.1 is more secure than other DNS resolvers is that Cloudflare does not collect user data. All the logs generated by the service are meant for debugging purposes and are deleted after 24 hours. Additionally, the DNS service by Cloudflare also offers some additional security features such as Query Name Minimization which eliminates privacy leakage by sending minimal query names to DNS servers.

When your data is funneled through 1.1.1.1, it becomes challenging for your ISP to track the websites you are visiting. For those who are concerned about the tracking of their internet footprints, using Cloudflare’s DNS service could be a good option.

Besides safe browsing, the service also helps in loading pages faster as it is deployed on Cloudflare’s 1,000+ servers all over the world.
