Cellebrite UNlock iPhone and iPad Running iOS 7 to iOS 12

Israel-based Cellebrite has announced a new version of its system Universal Forensic Extraction Device (UFED) — UFED Premium — which is capable of unlocking any iPhone, high-end Android device, or an iPad.

The forensics company has suggested that UFED Premium is meant to help the police in unlocking iPhones and Android smartphones and getting data from locked smartphones.

The new system developed by Cellebrite is an on-premise solution and can be bought by the concerned authorities to conduct the whole data extraction process themselves.

With the system’s help, the police will be able to get hold of third-party app data, chat conversations, saved emails and attachments, deleted content, and more. If what the company has said is true, the service could possibly hack any of the 1.4 billion active iDevices (approx.) Apple has on the market.

UFED Premium can access iPhones and iPads running iOS 7 to iOS 12.3. Also, it can crack Android devices such as Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, S8, S9 models and smartphones from Motorola, Huawei, LG, and Xiaomi.

In addition to this, Cellebrite is the only company that can unlock a range of smartphones as compared to any other such company. In the past, we also heard about GrayKey which is another hardware-based solution that can be used to hack into Apple devices.

For those who don’t know, Cellebrite is the company who helped the police extract data from Syed Rizwan Farook’s iPhone 5c at the time of the San Bernardino shooting, back in December 2015.
