It’s not hidden that Microsoft has accepted its defeat on the mobile front and abandoned Windows Phone. Tons of apps developers have already rejected the platform. In such a moment of crisis, the last thing Microsoft’s executives would’ve wanted to hear was that company’s founder and ex-CEO, Bill Gates uses Android.

In an interview with Fox News (Via MSFT), Bill Gates dropped this surprising bombshell. “Recently, I actually did switch to an Android phone,” he said. Honestly, personally, I wasn’t shocked at all.

However, Gates did try to bring a faint smile on Microsoft fans’ face by saying that he had installed tons of Microsoft apps on his Android phones. It’s not surprising that Microsoft is heavily invested in bringing its Office and other services to Android and iOS platforms.

When further asked that if he owned an iPhone, he said, “No, no iPhone.” It’s also worth noting that at one point, in the past, he banned Apple’s iPhones and iPad from the family home.

During the interview, Gates didn’t mention which smartphone brand or model he was using. Could it be a Samsung S8 Microsoft Edition? Don’t forget to share your guesses with us.
