Maruti Suzuki Swift, a masterpiece from the Japanese Automaker, has no scarcity of its lovers in India. And it’s the reason why it is one of the best selling cars in India. Right now, Swift only comes in petrol and diesel variants. As we know, the future is electric; therefore, the automotive giant has decided to introduce its hybrid version with the launch of Maruti Swift Hybrid in 2020.
Maruti has already revealed the hybrid swift in Indonesia. In India, the all-new Maruti Swift Hybrid is expected to launch in 2020. The car will be showcased in the upcoming AutoExpo in India, though there is no official statement from the company about the pricing. But the company has aimed to launch it within an affordable range of Rs. 6.5 to 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom India).
Maruti has already introduced some hybrid cars like Ciaz, S-cross, Baleno, etc. in the market. They have used their Smart Hybrid Technology in the above vehicles, an overview of this technology is given in our last post.
Next-gen Maruti Swift Hybrid:
Maruti Swift hybrid is going to be different from the previous hybrid cars from Maruti. We can say that it is going to be a next-gen hybrid car. Maruti will be using an electric motor along with the petrol engine. This duo of power sources will be working combinedly.
Maruti Swift Hybrid Engine Fuel Efficiency:
There has been a lot of speculation about Maruti Swift Hybrid, since its first news. As per the sources, there will be a 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine and a 10 KW electric motor. The company claims that it would be able to give a mileage of 32 km per liter (76 miles per gallon). Well, some other sources claim that it would be able to boost mileage up to 40 km per liter (96 miles per gallon).
The biggest highlight of this hybrid is that there would be an all-electric drive mode. There will be a charging option for the battery.
It can also be noted that the company hasn’t officially confirmed any news regarding swift hybrid for India.
In the upcoming AutoExpo, all the eyes will be on Maruti as swift lovers would be curious to see Maruti Swift Hybrid.

Maruti Suzuki India has announced its line up for the 2020 Auto Expo. There will be a total of 17 cars. The company has big plans to go green in the future. Therefore, the focus will be on hybrid cars and electric mobility. The biggest highlight, of course, is going to be the global broadcast of the electric coupe-styled concept Futuro-e from the company.
In addition, the company will be showcasing facelifted Vitara Brezza and Ignis. Other cars include S-Presso, WagonR, Celerio, Ciaz-S, Swift, Dzire, S-Cross, XL-6 and Ertiga.
