Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update Starts Rolling Out For Android One Devices


Android-OneShort Bytes: Google is making its Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update release a bit faster. Apart from the high-end Google Nexus devices, the affordable lineup of Android One devices too are now getting the update one time.

Having an affordable Android One powered device doesn’t always mean low-end specs on your phone. If we talk about the OS updates, the Android One users just get lucky more often. Just like the Nexus devices, these devices are the first ones to get the timely Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates.

According to the latest media reports, more devices have started to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update. The update has started appearing on the Micromax Canvas A1, along with other devices like General Mobile 4G, i-Mobile IQ II, and Cherry Mobile One.

Micromax A1 users in India have started receiving the update, while Cherry Mobile G1 is getting the update in Philippines. Other phones receiving the update are Lava Pixel V1, Karbonn Sparkle V and others.

Notably, Google has released the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow factory images for its Nexus phones. If you check the Google website, you can see the Android images for the newly released Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player.

It should be noted that Android Marshmallow update has brought a plethora of changes, including improved app permission, fingerprint access, memory tracker, better power saving mode and more.
