Google has announced the release of the Android 12 operating system after testing beta releases over the year. The new version comes packed with many Android 12 features and changes like Material You, redesigned widgets, notifications UI changes, and so on.
But one thing that’s a bit different this time is the rollout schedule. Usually, Google’s own Pixel devices get the new Android updates right after the announcement. But this time, Google said Pixel users will have to wait for a few weeks to get their hands on the Android 12 update.
The wait is even more for other brands, including Samsung, Vivo, Xiaomi, etc. which will release their respective skin Android 12 updates later this year.
While the search giant hasn’t mentioned any concrete reason behind the gap, the rollout is expected to coincide with the Android Dev Summit later this month.
Speaking of supported models, Android 12 will arrive on Pixel 3 and later versions up to Pixel 5. The unreleased Pixel 6 will most likely preload the new version out of the box.
