Last October, Xiaomi launched the latest MIUI 11 and introduced users to a bunch of exciting new features, including Mi Share, a new app drawer, and more.
One of the best MIUI 11 features is Always-On Display (AOD). While it was already available to the supported Xiaomi devices, MIUI 11 has amplified AOD by adding a bunch of customization options.
This includes new clock themes, breathing light notifications, a Signature theme where you can add personalized text, and a lot more. Unfortunately, only a few Xiaomi phones that have AMOLED Display support Always-On Display, including Redmi K20, Mi Note 10, Mi 9T Mi Black Shark, and a few more.

How To Enable MIUI 11 Always-On Display on all Xiaomi devices?
We have found a way to get the Always-On Display feature on your Xiaomi device, even if it isn’t supported. The catch is that you cannot use it since it’s a hardware related feature and won’t turn on simply by tweaking the software.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t hurt to see the AOD settings on your Xiaomi device. So, here is how to enable it —
- Enable Developer options, Go to Device settings → About Phone → Tap multiple times on MIUI version Tab
- Go to Device settings → Additional Settings → Developer options → Toggle off “Turn on MIUI optimization.”
- Go to Device settings → Always-on display & Lock Screen
Once you have enabled the AOD, you can see the MIUI 11 latest additions simply by installing the latest MIUI Always-on display APK file.
As much as you want the feature on your Xiaomi device, enabling the “Always-on display” won’t do anything. But it would indeed be a good bluff.
