Microsoft bringing an Internet Explorer replacement in Windows 10, was one of first news regarding the new and final iteration of Windows. The official launch date of Windows 10 is just around the corner and web browsing in Windows 10 is one of the most talked about features. Today, we will ask Microsoft Edge to take a back seat and let Firefox be the hero of this story.

While Microsoft has released Edge in the latest Windows 10 builds, Mozilla is gearing up for a revamped version of its popular browser Firefox. The company said in a statement that they will be soon releasing a dedicated version for iOS and Windows 10.

It should be noted that Opera has already announced its own Windows 10 version. Last year, Firefox announced that it is stopping work on a touch-based Firefox version and this announcement is being seen as an attempt to gain some more market share.

Mozilla Firefox is loved by many, but it has witnessed a decline in market share since early 2014 and it has managed to do some recovery in the first half of 2015. Now Mozilla has dumped its current 18-week release cycle and is going to accelerate the releases. Well, this surely looks as if the company has taken inspiration from their friends at Redmond.

Currently, little is known about the Firefox for Windows 10 and company has said that it will be a high-performing and independent alternative to the stock browser.

Mozilla has launched a new program named “Great or Dead” that implies that every feature in Firefox must be polished, fun to use, and functional. If that state isn’t reached, it shouldn’t be done at all.
